Warren-Walker Parent Association
All parents of Warren-Walker students are automatically members of the Warren-Walker Parent Association (WWPA). Active members include Board Members, Committee Chairs and their volunteers, and classroom liaisons. We encourage all parents to become involved with the many educational, cultural, social and fund-raising activities sponsored by WWPA. The WWPA has several General Meetings throughout the school year, and all parents are encouraged to attend. There is a Parent Social in the spring of each school year to name the Board Members for the following year. Some of the committees include:
Education
The Arts Enrichment Committee brings professional performers from the worlds of opera, theater, storytelling and music to the campus. Occasionally, the WWPA sponsors a Parent Forum, at which time an expert speaks on a topic relating to child rearing and other educational issues.
Fund Raising
A Gift Wrap sale and a Book Fair are held each fall. In the spring, the Parent Party brings parents, faculty and staff together for food, dance, and fun!
Information
The WWPA provides a Tuesday Folder for each child, which is a special envelope that carries home important information, test scores, etc. each Tuesday. The School Directory provides family names, addresses and phone numbers, as well as other important information. The Yearbook commemorates the school year, and is distributed at the end of the year. Room Parents coordinate volunteers to assist with field trips, class parties, class play and other activities.
Social
The New-Family Get Together welcomes recent enrollees into Warren-Walker, and the fall Family Barbecues enable teachers, staff, and families a relaxing, social time to share a meal together and get to know each other. The Parent Social is held in the spring, to solicit volunteers for the next year's Board and Committee positions, and to thank outgoing volunteers.
