Seventh Grade:
Expanding Skills and Enriching Lives
Seventh graders continue to mature as scholars and citizens.  Life Skills classes help them acquire the real-life knowledge they need to succeed beyond the classroom.  Career expectations, the essentials of lifelong health, and independent learning topics are addressed.

Departmentalized classes are designed to assure success throughout middle and high school, with college as a clearly defined and achievable expectation.  The well-rounded program allows them to explore music, art, sports, and technology.

They travel to Los Angeles to experience the Museum of Tolerance to introduce their study of World War II and the Holocaust in eighth grade.  In math, the students plan and construct toothpick bridges, working in teams to create the best design.  To complement the science unit on space, the seventh graders attend the Aerospace Museum program in Balboa Park.  As with the eighth graders, the seventh graders participate in the Stock Market Game sponsored by the Union Tribune.
