GullsTreks' Summer Adventure

Just after school got out in June, two groups of intrepid travelers ventured out on this summer's GullsTreks, a program offering travel opportunities to Warren-Walker Middle School students each summer.

Seven 6th & 7th Graders explored the beauty of the Sierras and the Emigrant Wilderness on "WWS in to the Wild!" After riding to their campsite on horseback, the group enjoyed day hikes, fishing, star gazing, snowball fights (in June!), s'mores, and good-old-fashioned camping fun - even the food received rave reviews! We are looking forward to offering this option again next summer. Thank you to Miss Smith & Mr. Wright for their steady here for more photos!

In its fourth year, "WWS in China" has become a mainstay of our GullsTreks program. This June, fourteen 7th Graders, led by Mr. Saunders & Sra. Foletta, spent two weeks immersing themselves in this proud and fascinating culture.  After a weekend in Suzhou, the group headed to the city of Yongkang to attend school and experience daily life through home stays. The second week was focused on Chengdu, part of the Sichuan province, where students marveled at the giant Buddha, sampled spicy food, and enjoyed the antics of juvenile pandas. This certainly was a trip full of memories to last a lifetime! Click here for more photos!

Stay tuned for meetings this coming fall about next year's travel opportunities. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Lori Ornelas at .
