Your IRA can provide a tax-smart way to make an impact with Warren-Walker School, now. The Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD (sometimes called an “IRA Charitable Rollover”) is a great way to make a tax-free gift now to WWS and satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), too.
How Do I Qualify?
The Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) offers multiple benefits for making gifts from your IRA.
You must be 70½ years or older at the time of the gift.
Gifts must go directly from your IRA to WWS.
For 2025, total QCD gifts cannot exceed $108,000 per donor.
Benefits of Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you don’t itemize your income tax deductions, a QCD offers all of the benefits of an itemized income tax charitable deduction.
If you are age 73 or older and must take a Required Minimum Distribution RMD, a QCD gift can satisfy your RMD without increasing your income taxes.
You may direct your gift to a program or area of your choice.
It is a wonderful way to create an immediate impact on WWS.
How Can I Make an IRA Charitable Rollover?
Contact your IRA administrator to request a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA to WWS.
70 ½ or Older? Make an “IRA Rollover” Gift (QCD) Today!
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $105,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as The Warren-Walker Promise Foundation without having to pay income taxes on the money. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
59 ½ or Older?
You can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty. If you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift.
At Any Age
No matter your age, you can designate The Warren-Walker Promise Foundation as the beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA and it will pass to us tax-free after your lifetime. It’s simple, just requiring that you contact your IRA administrator for a change-of-beneficiary form or download a form from your provider’s website. TIP: It’s critical to let us know of your gift because many popular retirement plan administrators assume no obligation to notify a charity of your designation. The administrator also will not monitor whether your gift designations are followed. We would love to speak to you about your intentions to ensure that they are followed. We would also like to thank you for your generosity.
If you have questions about giving through a qualified charitable distribution, please contact Whitney Robinson at wrobinson@warren-walker.com or call 619-223-3663 ext. 7606.

DAF assets are invested and donors can recommend grants at any time from the DAF to any qualified 501(c)3 public charity, including Warren-Walker School via the Warren-Walker Promise Foundation.
