After school today there were several students in my office talking about what to do this summer. My advisors, Blake, Stephany, Austin, Tacoria, and Sam plus a few others came up with some great ideas. One of the first plans was to go to Camp Gulls- lots of different and fun things to do for Middle School kids (from students who went last summer). I loved the learning to cook, having a bake sale and donating the proceeds to a charity, going on family road trips, and having bonfires at the beach ideas. Once they started talking the fun kept on coming- going to baseball games with your famiy and friends, playing Capture the Flag at dusk with the neighbors, exploring your neighborhood. High on the list was reading, going to movies, playing games like Jenga, practicing your instrument (Mr. Morgan will like that one!), and volunteering.
So if your Middle Schooler is wondering what to do this summer, feel free to borrow from the lists above - I can hardly wait to hear what they actually did.
