"Full STEAM Ahead!”
Any and all volunteers at all three campuses are invited to celebrate a wonderful year of community support for Warren-Walker School at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on May 14th. This year’s theme, “Full STEAM Ahead,” will highlight Warren-Walker School integrated units involving Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, with a focus on SeaPerch, an underwater robotics program in which Middle School students participate, many of whom qualified for the national competition. “Full STEAM Ahead” also refers to all the special qualities of our volunteers.
STEAM is more than just the latest educational buzzword at Warren-Walker School. We have created cross-curricular science units for years… “Egg Drops”, gardens, marine science projects, shark reports, metal sculptures of invertebrates, and now SeaPerch. What do interdisciplinary science units and volunteers have in common? Lots of energy and enthusiasm to accomplish something that incorporates all the actions stated on the poster above. Science is a thoughtful and creative discipline, often involving collaboration. Volunteers do these things to help make Warren-Walker the best school it can be!
RSVP on our website today, so that we can say, “THANK YOU!” in person!
