I love words. I was the youngest in a family of five children, and I needed words to help me contribute to the family conversations and influence my loved ones. However, when I started school, I struggled to learn to read and write. Not until third grade did my cousin Shirley, a nun who taught in a Catholic school, sit down to read with me and recognize that I couldn’t see very well – maybe I was squinting, or tilting my head, or avoiding the task-at-hand; I don’t know, but sure enough her observations were confirmed by an Optometrist. Obviously, once I got glasses to correct my 20/400 vision, learning to read and write became much more doable tasks!
Then I really learned the power of WORDS! To this day, I work hard to listen, develop thoughts, and to put my thoughts very carefully into words! I am not sure I am a natural BLOGGER! I am concerned that I’ll be more thoughtful than spontaneous to be a very good BLOGGER, but I’ll do my best. Let me know what you think…
