Happy New Year, Everyone!
As the New Year is upon us, there are high hopes for what 2012 will bring. In my mind, we celebrate how fortunate we are and do what we can to make it the best possible year for our families, friends, and school community.
The school will soon engage in ways to honor our 80-year legacy. At each Lower School, we'll create a human timeline, complete with vignettes, reenactments, and historic cameos. In this way, we'll bring to life for the students the school's history, and the wonderful mission and spirit of our founder, Nellie Walker. What the Middle School will do to signify this notable anniversary has yet to be determined, but will certainly be lively and fun for the students, as well.
Mrs. Walker was known as a "Woman of Dedication," a highly esteemed honor in San Diego society. She was touted to be wise, sincere, and committed to creating a learning environment beyond reproach. The program was thought to be progressive and motivating. The strong performance of her students and the longevity of the institution she founded attest to her success. Her legacy thrives day-to-day on all three campuses!
May 2012 be a year of many successes - for each of our students, our faculty and staff, and our community of families - past and present!
